Subject line says it all. I'm struggling to find the Coyote reducer hose that goes from the top back of the Moroso expansion tank to the engine. 5/16" to 3/8". I have plenty of both hoses from the fuel system sitting around, and I'm curious if I could repurpose them for the coolant system. Google has mixed reviews.

Gotta get the ford part, or the mishimoto part. That hose has a backflow valve in it up near the tank. Mishimoto one should be easy to find online, but I just went to the ford dealer in Haverhill and they had that and two of the other hoses I needed in a few days. I have no idea if you can use fuel line hose, but you need the backflow valve in there anyway.

Ignore my last post. I was thinking the hose to to the radiator. But, I got the one to the engine from Ford as well.

Not an answer to your question, but I ran into the same problem - couldn't find two of the required OEM hoses anywhere. Several places indicated they had it in stock, so I purchased, only to get an email the next day saying there was a national back order and they didn't have any ETA when they would be back in stock. After doing this 3 times, I gave up and asked the forum. In the end I bought the Mishimoto silicone coolant hose kit which had all the hoses I needed. Here's an example of the kit. Thanks for this. the place I ordered the hoses from just got back to me and are just waiting arrival for one last hose from their distributor, then sending my way. Just in case, this is a great back up!

You didn't say specifically what hose you have. Needs to be rated for 300f.

For that upper hose I used silicone heater hose from Summit. P/N 20415 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-20415) is 5/16" and P/N 20425 (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-20425) is 3/8". I used a 3/8" to 5/16" hose barb fitting (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/icb-an627-06-05a) to join them. You can see the assembled hose in this photo. The nice thing about silicone hose is that it's flexible enough to bed easily coming out of fitting on the engine.

The size difference is so slight the 5/16" will go right onto the surge tank nipple. We use this hose for our Coyote builds.
