Good afternoon/morning all. 2 quick questions:
1. How does everyone wash their roadster? I am currently using an all purpose surface cleaner spray and a lint free towel.
2. Has anyone put any grating or something similar over their radiator to protect it? I remember breeze had one but it fit just inside the air inlet and I didn't like the look of it. Would like something that sits flush on the radiator.
As always, thanks for any suggestions/ideas.

A lot of guys use the Nomex honeycomb radiator protector from Speedway Motors.

I built my own using angle Aluminum and a piece of expanded stainless steel from Pegasus. Had the assembly powder coated black.

Response to question 1. When mine is really "buggy" - I take it to the car wash. I wait 20 minutes or so in the bay to let the side pipes cool off first. Then go with the pre-soak mostly on the front end of the car and the wheels. Soap, then rinse. Sometimes I'll hit the engine bay as well. Got to be careful with the spray around the cockpit of course, but a little water in there is fine.

When it's just dusty from sitting in the garage, I'll use the Lucas Speedwax with microfibre towels.

I don't run anything to protect the radiator. As for washing the car, it got it's first bath from mother nature this weekend. Aside from that, it's Maquires spray detailer and a new microfiber towel each time. My wife has so many microfiber rags she could scream.

Spray detailer and a microfiber cloth for in-between washes.
I use a rinse-less wash for really washing it.
I have also used regular car wash. You just have to be a little careful with the hose.

If that "general purpose surface cleaner" is not a product specifically for your cars paint, like a general household cleaner, STOP using that. A huge part of car wash and detail sprays are the lubricating properties.

No radiator protection for me.

I use my tonneau cover to cover the cockpit and just spray it at the car wash. Then I take it home to detail it. I do also have the nomex cover for the radiator. Works great. Used a Z channel at top and bottom. I can remove it and put in back in seconds.

Do you have any pictures of the nomex cover on?

Don’t judge the messy garage.

Washed mine twice since new with Meguiar's car wash & micro fiber towels the a leather chamois to dry it. Other than those two times I use Meguiar's best exterior spray detailer and a new microfiber towel.

Have a Nomex piece sprayed with black high temperature outside grill paint to protect the radiator. Use compressed air to clean it & re-spray to freshen it up.
