I am going to sell my roadster. I have a finished hard top for it and it is not currently installed. The question is :
Do I install it and try to sell it with it on, or do I leave it off and try to sell it like that? The less I put on and take off the less scratches on the car.

With typical modifications to vehicles, they're never worth the original purchase price when going with the vehicle during sale.

I would imagine the same holds true. The question is, how many people want to buy a Cobra with the hard top? I know it's removeable, and there's probably somebody out there who's willing to deal with removal and storage when not in use, but if you're looking to sell how long are you willing to wait for that person?

Also, I think you'd get close, if not more than your purchase price for that hard top. Especially considering how much they sell for after shipping from Europe.

Where you at? And how much would you entertain selling just the top for? Also, is it for a Mk4?

I'd leave it off. I had an APE top on mine for a decade, always on. But I think I am a rare one. My gut says 99% of people who envision a cobra view as a roadster. I think the top is like MB says, options can help sell a car but rarely increase the price. OTOH how hard is it to install? If someone buys and wants the top, tops are a royal pain to transport uninstalled. Maybe leave it off but be ready to install it between making the deal and the car actually leaving?

I am in Brownsville TX.
I have it on a MK 3.1. No mods are needed for the roll bars. it clears them. Ancor points are on the trunk, fenders, before the doors, and the windshield.
1,750 and the buyer pays the shipping.
I don't have any pics of the hard top on the car after the final paint so I included pics when it was black and when we where working on it.
Thank you for the input.

I agree with CraigS. Off for selling the car. On for transport.
