Good evening, everyone! I ordered my MkIV on 4/18, and got my packet in the mail today from Factory Five. I'm pretty fired up...I built an early MkIII back in 2005, with a donor Fox, 3-Link, and that's about it...pretty basic build.
Fast forward 18 years, and my budget, tool collection, and mechanic's skills have improved greatly, and the Coyote exists in crate form, so I'm diving back in. Here's the details of my order:
50013 - Complete Kit
14222 - Engine Mount/Trans Kit
160920 Clutch Quadrant and Cable
16796 - Coyote Headers with/FAST
17127 - Base 4 into 4 Side Exhaust
17120 - RD IRS w/Complete Kit
17150 - Front and Rear IRS Shock Set
16668 - IRS 3.55 Center Section and Spindles
16038X - 31 Spline Driveshaft
16461 - Coyote Power Steering Kit
60359 - CP Platinum Gauges
16325 - Vinyl Seats
16613X - Powdercoat Frame
16622 - Left Powdercoat Rollbar
33406 - Front Brakes
12451X - 14" Leather Steering Wheel
17141 - Blank Das
16808 - Gas Strut Kit
16863 - GEN3 Coyote Installation Kit
12070X - Body Cutouts
16037 - IRS Front and Rear Swaybars
12077 - Seat Track Kit
I'll probably do something different/unique with gauges and the seats. I'd love an all-glass setup for instrumentation, but don't know what's on the market. I'll have to do some research. I'm also not sure what I want to do for wheels and tires, but I love the dark grey MkIV with all the chrome powdercoated black, with the bronze FFR anniversary wheels...I know that car is pretty popular on the interwebs, and I think it looks spectacular.
I specified a delivery date of way out in Feb 2024, just to give me some time to research, save a few pennies, build a buck, and get my garage ready. However, on the sales order I got in the mail, my completion date is listed as 7/1/23. I'll call in the AM to sort that out. If waiting longer means I'll have a shorter POL, then I'm happy to wait.
I have moved twice since building my MkIII in a cramped 2-car garage, and now I live out in the country, and have a detached 30' x 30' heated and cooled shop, so I have tons of room. Pretty fired up about that, too. I'm in Tonganoxie, Kansas, 14 miles north of my NCAA Champion Jayhawks!!
Anyway, more to come, and I'm happy to hear comments on my options list. I know I could get some of this cheaper from other sources, but I'm at a point where I like the convenience of just getting it all from one place.
Oh, I'm probably going to go with the FMS Coyote Power Module; seems like simple, one-stop shopping.
Thanks!
Greg
