So I should be finalizing my order in a few weeks, spending way to much money (blew past "Budget Build" long time ago with the 427...) and I know buying and shipping after the fact can add up if items are not in the original order. Is there any useful benefit to having the sun visors either sun shading or air flow over the top or is it really just a cosmetic thing.

If you are a tall guy like me. It is nice to have the rocks hit the visor as opposed to my forehead.
I find them useful for both sun shielding and airflow. I don't regret having them.

I never used them to block the sun until the hardtop went on. Before that, they were just to direct the air over my melon, in an attempt to keep my hat in place.

Used for airflow.

Maybe because I'm not a tall person? I had visors on my other car, none on the car I have now, my hat stays put much better without the visors.

Someone on this Forum, can’t remember who, suggested putting a small bead of silicone along the front edge of your cap to keep it from blowing off. I tried it and it works great!

I use mine for three things. Block the sun, direct air over my head, and try to deflect sleet and snow as it comes at the windshield. I tried the sleet and snow part of that yesterday. Thankfully, I had a skull cap on, but my exposed forehead hurt like he!!.

Who in their right mind would take a Cobra out in the snow?

When I added mine I noticed an immediate difference in less wind turbulence coming over the windshield which is THE reason I added them. They certainly are not there for cosmetic reasons, as I prefer the look of the car without them.

I'm assuming you let the silicone set up for a day or two before donning the cap. :p :)

The sun visors definitely keep your ball cap from blowing off but if you love wind blown hair then you can do without them.

Check you State's inspection requirements. New York State for example requires padded visors, not just tinted ones.

I just use 3/4" staples.

Fortunately, that was not me. I was returning from Autocross this weekend and saw a wall of rain headed my way. I was able to drive around most of it. Got caught on the back side of the squall. It had already rained, sleeted, and snowed during the autocross event.

In two previous cars, not FFRs, I had dark bronze visors and clear windwings. Liked both. The visors helped when driving into the sun and by moving air and rain over my head. The windwings reduced the wind inside but also could be folded forward to get air in. Really helpful when travelling across Nebraska with ambient at 104f.
Wingshield dependent on this build I'll have both.
As far as hats, I always used a tradeshow badge neck strap through the hat's adjuster band and then clipped to my shirt collar. Worked well, never lost a hat after using the strap.

I have a bunch of these hat clips (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013BLY4G?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_k3_1_8&=&crid=3ONPWVA02BZID&=&sprefix=hat+clip) that I give to friends and family whenever we go sailing. They're very handy to ensure your hat doesn't end up overboard. Having to practice a man overboard drill to retrieve someone's hat ensures that they'll get all the &*$% tasks for the rest of the day. ;)

They save your hat from blowing off and I kind of like the way they look on the car. Don't do much for blocking sun. And good call on the 427, awesome engine in these cars!
