Given the unfortunate circumstances that happened to the Thompson family, I am in search of a RT drop trunk. If I cannot find one, I will either have to design one for my incoming mk4 car or bypass that option. Let me know if anyone has a spare or unused one for sale.
Thanks
Bill

Please move this post to wanted parts
Darkwatercustoms had one. Not sure if they're still doing it.

talk to frank (ie427). he's got some blueprints to make your own. i also heard that DWC isn't making much right now. the owner hasn't had much time to get in the shop to make products.

The drop trunk is probably one of the easiest DIY mods out there. It's just five pieces. Two ends (the same), two sides (also the same), and a flat sheet for the bottom. Drill and rivet together. The Harbor Freight 30" bending brake (https://www.harborfreight.com/30-inch-bending-brake-67240.html) will do the bends and you have the tool for lots of other projects. Dimensions aren't critical. Make it fit the available space however you want. Just don't make it deeper than available to the tank. I've done several. This one in my Coupe.

The design is not difficult. I made up a Visio 2D drawing and had a local fabrication shop make up mine. Good grief, it is a box without a lid, pretty simple.

I sure wish you would quit posting this. I have never said this.
We have our own design dating back to when Cannonball Cobra (Paul Mastroianni) originally made these. We make them order to fit in very small numbers. Nearly every one of the cars we build gets one and one or two others during a year. Russ' designed is made to fit the Factory 5 chassis in a more universal way, being smaller in overall size.
I have said something similar to Alan & Paul, in that, these are not hard to make. I even went into great detail a while back on how to make one for yourself.

Sorry, thought I heard you say on a recent YouTube video that you weren’t interested in making them to sell but had dimensions that you’d be happy to share. Maybe I misunderstood

You mentioned something about sharing your design at the 31min mark. I’ll stop telling others this

I even went back to the video before posting this in the other thread.
I know him pretty well and can tell you he never said that. Just paraphrasing here but what he said is that he is not in a position to make them in any great numbers and if contacted he could "tell" you how to make one for yourself..................... No mention of sharing any blueprints or plans.
