A big thank you to Dave Smith, Dave Lindsey, Dan Golub, Nicole Smith, Tanya, and everyone else I met today! Dave Lindsey gave me a factory tour and I got to spend some time with Dave Smith talking about new software, vertical integration, products and where he sees Factory Five going. Bottom line – I believe Dave has a good plan in place and Factory Five is going to outlive us all.

I was impressed by the whole production process. The FFR team is clearly highly talented – I was surprised to see how manual many of the processes are and how precise everything is. Our cars really are “handmade”. The tour really gave me an appreciation of what goes in to each vehicle. While the whole parts availability, backorders, and all that never really affected me, I’ve seen a lot of threads here that frustrated guys have posted. I understand why all that happened, I understand the challenges Dave faced in fixing it, and I know he’s got it solved. Upgrading the software that’s so crucial to running this kind of business is not for the faint of heart. These guys really get it. I support what they’re doing and hope you will, too.

Dave spent a fair amount of time talking about the F9. The R&D that has gone into it has really paid off for other models – the pre-runner, coupes, roadsters and the F9. The carbon fiber body parts are amazing, and what they learned on the F9 has direct applicability to the Pre-runner.
I think FFR is making the right move with the new truck. I understand why he’s taking this direction and I believe his investments are going to pay off in a big way. I wish I had the space to build one myself!

Thanks, Dave, for your time, the info you shared, and your passion. This was a really fun day!

The F9 is displayed, but not conducive to photos. It's still a phenomenal machine...

There are a lot of people who are going to be very happy, very soon!
