Hi all,
I purchased brakes from Fort'e.
The manual shows a bracket relocating the brakes to the top of the rotor.
They seem to fit fine on the rear.
I do recall seeing a few posts about this but cant seem to find them again.

Have any of you mounted these brakes in the rear position without issues?
Do you guys suggest getting brackets from FFR

Any input appreciated.
Thanks
George

Rear mount might get in the way of ebrake cables or the springs

George,

This is an IRS rear, correct?

Your calipers look to me like 2015+ Mustang OEM rear calipers - they are mounted to the aluminum knuckle/ear via through-blots to the caliper bracket, correct?

I recently swapped the FFR-supplied calipers ('88 Taurus/T-bird with adapter plates - which were located at 12 o'clock on the rotor as shown in the FFR manual) to OEM 2015+ Mustang calipers. I believe the latter to be superior as there is no adapter and the pad sweeps the entire width of the rotor. I did have to buy the correct mounting bolts (maybe Forte supplied you with these) and OEM parking brake cables to mate with the lever arms on the calipers- both not a big deal.

Can you post more photos?

See if you think these are the pads.

Of course you can always ask Forte what he sold you.

George I agree with Dave that looks like 2015 and newer Mustang factory rear brakes. I am running those as well with no issues mounted like that. I am using 17" rims. FYI.183188

Thanks Dave,
The top pads that show up when I click the link look like the exact pads I got from Forte'.
He also supplied the bolts.
If I need to order brake lines are they for a particular year?

Thanks
George

George I think the brackets you are referring to in the manual are for if you are using the FFR supplied calipers. The calipers in your picture I'm pretty sure are not what FFR would give you. I think I was able to use the brake lines that FFR supplied in the complete kit. FFR make a small L-bracket to hook the E-brake cable to the caliper. I will look and see if I have more pictures.

Ok, you are IRS and those are 2015+ Mustang OEM calipers- great.

Assuming the brake lines you refer to are the stainless steel braided hoses, the length you need is going to depend on where you mounted the hard line AN fittings (AN to banjo fitting at the caliper). My FFR supplied ones were too short and I ended up with something like 23" lines- but that's because of where I had mounted the ends of my hard lines.

You may be able to use the FFR-supplied parking brake cables with the bracket as DW66 mentioned (there is a photo of it in the manual). I did not- I used these with the mounting tabs removed:

George these pictures show FFR brake lines and e-brake cables. I have around 4000 miles so far and no issues with either. Hope this helps.183195
