Hey guys,
Can anyone help me in the purchase of wheels and tires for my Coupe Gen 3 build.
This being my first build,It is quite frustrating trying to work out all the Backspacing, offsets, spacers, etc.
I checked out the wheel repository but does not appear to be much help with the 3 link.
I want to keep the old school 15" wheel size in white. Some sort of spoke. Want to see the calipers.Steel wheels good.
FF5 just premotes Halibrand. With are pretty costly and only offer one style in 15". Also, out of stock.

Here are my stats.

Gen3
3 Link rear
8.8 rear converted to disk using standard Ford Mustang 10.5" rotors.
Front disk brakes and rotors from FF5 and A arms.

If anyone can tell me where to buy, it would be greatly appreciated.
Sure don't want to screw this up.
Thanks much

Scott

We need to know what axle you have - Fox, SN95 etc they are different widths. The FFR IRS is the same as the Fox width axle.

Dave
I purchased a used 1987-1993 Mustang foxbody 8.8 rear with drum brakes. How do I tell what rear it is.
Any measurements I can make? Rear is on the frame.
I still have the old 4 lug axles that I changed out.
Thanks for the help.

OK so your back axle is the standard Fox width and it is the same as the IRS cars. There is a post that has a spread sheet of wheels and the fits for the Gen 3 coupe, look about 10 posts down and you will see it.
The wheels FFR sell will fit but most of us add about a 1 inch spacer on the rear because the Coupe is wider than the Roadster, you can use this backspace info. The issue with the 15 inch wheels is getting tires in the widths you will need and your brakes are more limited. I went with 18's on my car.
Hope this helps

If it helps here are the wheels I went with and I'm also running the 3 link but the SN95 (94-98) rear axle which is 1.5 inches wider total than yours so backspacing would need to be adjusted or spacers used.

Forgestar F14
Front: 18x9.0 +10 backspacing
Rear: 18x11.0 +22 backspacing

Keep in mind that tire size and model will need to be accounted for to prevent rubbing. With this setup I have none.
