View Full Version : Speedhut GPS Speedo red-black?

I may need to put in another call to speedhut tomorrow unless someone else has dealt with this:
As noted in my previous post, speedhut advised I gang all the respective colored wires into groups and attach to the harness as directed. I didnt realize it also says to connect the Speedo red-black wire to the speedo-clock red wire. Problem is that I don't have a red-black coming out of my speedo...anyone dealt with this?

I see two different sets of instructions on Speedhut's website for the GPS speedometer. One has the red-black hot start wire and the other doesn't. If your gauge is the latter, use that set of instructions. The set that shows the wire you are asking about is labeled "old". My guess is that the new gauges have some type of capacitor that retains power for the hot start function.
