OK, I did try searching, but still not clear.

I am at the point in the wiring harness manual that tells me to amputate the plug ends on the wires they included with the gauges (3 wire) and then (I think) it is telling me to splice the plugs to the RF sending unit harness wires (2 of the 3)? How would the gauge get info that way?

Can I not just run the wiring that came with the gauges from the gauge to the sender, no cutting or splicing?

thanks,

The advantage of using the RF sending unit wires is the large dash harness connectors are all that need to be unplugged if the dash needs to be removed. Of course if there's a difference, e.g. the 2-wires available vs. the 3-wires required you would need to add it to the harness and use an unused pin in one of the connectors. Or use an unused wire. Typically there are extras available. I've done both. But running the wires that came with the gauges directly is another option and many do it that way too. Your choice.

You can use the Oil Temp wire in the sensor harness and change out the ends on each side to connect them at the gauge and at the sensor.
