Filling Radiator

After 13 years of issues filling my Mk3 radiator it just dawned on me that there’s no vent. How have others solved for this?

I remove the temperature sensor in the front of the intake manifold, that lets most of the air out then a few heat cycles will pull the coolant from the overflow tank.

+2 on David's remove the temp sensor. I fill til it come out there, install the sensor and the pressure cap. I run several engine heat/cool cycles and make sure the reservoir never runs dry. Usually 3 heat cycles and the reservoir level settles and stays. BTW I like a min 1.5 quart reservoir either clear or w/ s sight tube.
