Why is it that what should be the simplest of things seems to be giving me the most issues? I abandoned the Fortes clutch cable fitting for shortening the cable at the clutch fork so that I'd have more adjustment at the firewall. Now, even though the cable is in place in the clutch fork, for the life of me I can't get the retainer clip to slide into the slot in the end of the cable! I don't remember having any difficulty getting it into the Fortes piece, but now it just refuses to slip into place. What am I missing? I know I've lost a bunch of strength over the last few years, but this is ridiculous.
