I haven’t posted anything until now because I have been heads down and getting this car ready for auction. It’s looking really beautiful and I added some missing features like ventilation in the foot boxes and windshield wipers. I’m very proud of this build and we’ll see how it does today at auction! Wish me luck!

A group of us from Prescott were down at Mecum Glendale yesterday, and sorry to say I missed seeing the car. We walked the upper mezzanine and the tents outside. My knees said no to going down the stairs to the lower floor. Do you know where the car was at?
You should do well, in one of the tents I saw what appeared to be a FF donor build with an expected range of $75K to $90K. IMO, worth half of that expected range.
Lots of well prepared and beautiful cars and good venue for the sale.

It was a pretty emotional day for me for sure. Frankly, I thought the car was worth the reserve of 75K but that’s life. I didn’t set the price. We are in Palm Springs right now celebrating with a nice dinner then I will be home later tonight and sometime this weekend. I will post the details of the preparation that this car went through to get ready for the auction. I even did the Kleiner mod!

Jeff

I'm speculating something around 10% is what consignment dealerships get for selling someone's Cobra as well?

Not everyone is a USC fan, maybe color/stipes entered into the equation? Sorry to see your selling price as the build quality on your car deserved more.
The donor build MK1 selling for $67.5K was a BAT crazy number IMO. I personally saw the MK1, not impressive at all IMO.

The hammer will bring what the hammer will bring, but $60,000.00 is still good money.
There is no doubt regarding the quality of the car, but I think the color combo hurt it.
Could the car have brought more B.A.T. is a question that can't be answered.
You just never know what the right venue is to sell a specialty car.

NOTE:...If I sold Redbone, I think my engine choice will either be a big winner or big loser with no middle ground.
