Looks like you don’t have the latch shims. One thing to note is the mating surface that the latch sets against needs clearance to fit the head of the carriage bolt. If you use the FFR plates the bolt head will be too wide and either needs to be turned to a smaller diameter to fit the spacer hole or the spacer hole needs to be made larger. If you don’t use the latch shim then you need to clearance the door or make a shim to space the latch away from the door. Lastly if you have the latches out you should drill and tap the ball on the end of the latch handle and use a small button head screw to secure it. Otherwise in time it can fall off. These parts are made from soft brass and crimps don’t hold up well in the long term.
