Alternator Connection

The photo shows the connection terminals for my M-8600-M50BALT alternator. How is this alternator attached to the Ron Francis harness? Did you have to use a special Ford Plug for making the connection? Is this alternator considered a 3G type?

That looks like a Coyote. The red alternator wire in the RF harness, #8 gauge I think, runs to the main post of the alternator. The connector you are referring to is part of the Ford Control pack and plugs right into the alternator.
