Nitto 555G2. 255/40-17 all around or if you want a little more beef in the rear you can step up to 275/40-17 in the rear and still be OK with the 9” rim.

Here is what 255/40-17's and 275/40-17's look like on 17 X 9.5" wheels.
I think you are looking at a winning combination if you take Sir Jeffski's advice.
My son's car, displayed below, is not a Cobra, but it does give you some goods views to ponder.

I agre on the sizes and the tire make/model. 555G2s have been a very well received and accepted tire for several years.

I just replaced my Nitto NT 555's with the new 555G2's and love them. Great ride and great look. The ones I just replaced were only because of age, not wear. Very impressed with them and actually not expensive tires compared to many other options

Does Nitto 555g2 make a 305 or 335/30R18?

Hi all,
Just starting out. Need to start my own build forum but thought i could ask here. Are 275/40/17 for front and 315/35/17 for rear too big?

A few years ago I replaced my worn Kuhmos with Nitto 555G2 (245/45 R17 Front, 315/35 R17 rear) and really like them.

315/35 R17 is not too big if you have the right wheel backspace for the rear axle. And there are threads on wheels and axle combos. Professor Kleiner can weigh in also.

That's what I run. No issues at all.

Those sizes are not too big. If you're on a budget, I'm getting ready to replace a set of Sumitomo tires in those sizes with a set of Nitto 555Gs and the Sumitomos will be for sale. They only have 1000 miles on them, and no weather checks, but they are old and too hard for autocrossing which is why I'm going to the Nittos. Buy the set of four for $300 plus shipping from Central PA.

Hi, if those Sumitomos are still available I would be interested.
