Need help
I am finishing the wiring on my Mark IV and run in to a problem. The tail light assemblies are LED and have three wires labeled brake light, tail light, ground.
The harness has four wires labeled brake light, signal light, tail light, ground. So far I’ve tried tying the brake and signal together and all lights flash when signals are turned on. Factory Five says to delete the purple wire which is the brake light. I tried that….now have signals and tail lights…..no brake light.
Anyone have a suggestion as Factory Five tech support is slow to respond.

The kit comes with two lights on each side of the car. Assuming that's what you have. Attach one light (I used the upper light) to the brake, tail light (running light) and ground wires. Attach the second light to the turn signal light, tail light (running light) and ground. Yes, the ground goes to both light fixtures.

NOTE: Use plug in connectors so they can be removed for paint, if you're planning to remove the body to paint (which most people do).
Here is one of many examples of the connectors.

Scroll to the bottom to see "Weather tight connectors".
Also note.... You can rent the installation tool. These connectors need a special tool, not your average wire crimp tool.

I’m assuming that you have the rectangular lights which have been standard for the past few years, not the round ones that Ducky is referring to. This being the case you have to use the converter which was included to provide the logic for rear turn and brake lights.

Here’s the diagram for wiring it.

Hope that helps!

Did you remember to wire in the converter that came with your kit? I used JBnova's build page for the wiring. Scroll further down the page. I do recommend to use proper crimps though not what is shown.
