I have a Pro-M Fuel Pump Hanger and the instructions show modifying the fuel pump hole to allow the fuel pump hanger to fit through. I just received my kit in January and the Pro-M hanger installs cleanly without any mods. I'm wondering if the Pro-M instructions are for a "standard" Mustang or another vehicle tank? I don't want to modify my tank if it's not needed. Thoughts?

I was able to get the Pro-M hanger into the tank without modifying it. Just be careful when installing the fully assembled hanger not to nick any of the wires on the sharp edges of the hole.

Echoing John's comment above. The difficulties I had with installing the Pro-M hanger wasn't really the size of the opening but rather the baffles that get in the way during hanger insertion. I'd use a flashlight to look at what you're navigating the hanger into and then insert it with caution. It can be done without making that cut

I just did one and had to modify the tank. Could be manufacturing differences. Mine was an FFR supplied tank.

I did NOT have to modify the tank, and I had a 155 lph pump installed at the same time. I did have to turn it 90 degrees CCW to start the install, but eventually could turn it to the normal orientation.
