My kit arrived today! Going to start inventorying next but I know there is a list of parts that a lot of folks send out to powder coat. Can someone point me to the thread with that list? Thanks

It's really up to you and your vision for the final product. Some do all the aluminum pieces. Some only do what "shows." What that means varies by individual. There are a bunch of fabricated parts in the Coupe build. This post in my build thread shows many of them that I had powder coated. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?26630-Edwardb%92s-Gen-3-Type-65-Coyote-Coupe-59-Build-5-000-Mile-Report&p=319895&viewfull=1#post319895. Door frames and hinges, hood hinges, rear hatch hinges, radiator shroud and tunnel, and more. Again, what you choose to do with these (and more not pictured) is up to you. Before you send them out though, take the time to clean them up, file off any rough edges, weld splatter, etc. Results in nicer finished parts.

Congrats on your kit delivery. I don't think there's a big rush to figure this out. First order of business is the inventory and don't rush it. Time spent now will be worth it later. Normally, you don't want to powder coat panels until fitted and drilled. Lots of work there. You can sort out what fabricated parts you want coated based on identification and where you see them fit into your build. Two comments though: The hood hinges, unless they've been changed, have the wrong angle on the bottom. Some who have the skills re-weld them. That would mess up the powder coat obviously. I don't weld. I made a wedge. The door frames are essentially buried inside the doors. You could leave them bare. But they are steel and I don't leave steel bare. But could be painted, for example, rather than powder coat.

Good luck and enjoy the build!

Like edwardb says, totally up to you and what you are looking for. For me, and you have seen it, I just PC'd all the parts near the wheel wells and a few small parts. All others I either polished or lightly sanded and added sharkhide (like cockpit floor and trunk).

Your car looks great!

Thanks Ted and Paul. I had already decided to not powder coat the aluminum; I’m going to go the Sharkhide route for those. So it comes down to not having bare steel parts. As I go through my inventory I will figure it out and Pauls list gives me a good starting point along with the photo in his build thread. So onto the inventory I go!
