I'm looking into the possibility. I have the gear and plan to see if it will work. I will keep everyone posted.

Why on God's green earth do you need cruise control? If you want a boulevard cruiser, buy a Corvette!!!

Yes.

Love it. I used the Audiovox unit. Small profile for control module hides away easily.

I put cruise control in a streetrod I had. I bought the kit from Ron Francis. It comes with lots of wires and look pretty intimidating but really went in easy and worked as well as the factory cruise on my truck. I gave it a passing thought with the coupe but decided against it because I want to DRIVE it. :)
It your call.

Bill,

If I drive all the way down from Halifax to Wareham for open house, I want cruise. 9 hours with my foot on the pedal doesn't seem fun to me. Also since my coupe is a modern interpretation of the coupe, it should have it.

I've been looking at using a unit from Rostra controls. It does not use a vacuum line, which I like.

Any installation suggestions and equipment recommendations for cars using an electronic throttle? I'll be building a hot rod with a Ford Coyote crate motor with their matching PCM kit. I want to link everything together electronically. All I am finding are kits with mechanical throttle linkage. Thanks.

Wow! I do have a Corvette Z06 with crusie. It's nice to have. Also, I do have cruise in my Roadster as well. It's nice to have on long trips. I used it going accross country a few years ago and it was a leg saver. Nice clean install and nobody knows I have it. Nice to complete a long drive without leg cramps.

I've put both the Audiovox (in mine) and the Rostra units in roadsters. Both units are made by Rostra and the Audiovox is vacuum while the Rostra is electronic. One advantage to the Rostra is it'll pick up more pulse patterns while the Audiovox is limited. I had to use the stock gear pickup (no cable) for the Audiovox to work on my setup. The Rostra can work off the electronic speed ring on the TKO's.

The Rostra seems a little more responsive when energizing but both do a very good job.

Since I am doing a donor build my intention is to incorporate the factory cruise

I'm using an engine with an electronic throttle. I found an part/sensor from an 03 pick-up that allows the use of a cable pedal hooked to this sensor from the truck that converts the mechanical pedal to ETC signal. Maybe there is something similar for a Ford.

I installed one of these units in my 86 Mustang a number of years ago and it works flawlessly. I've got one on the shelf that I planned to put in the coupe someday.

Weendoggy has lots of experiance with the cruise control, he drove his roadster from Aptos, Ca. to the ffr open house. And most of the way there was a rain cloud sitting right above him! :-0

Nice to see you stop by here Ween! :-)
