There was a Road and Track issue in the early 1980's of a Cobrrari. Authentic Cobra fitted with a Ferrari V12 running around Mullholland, I believe...

If, as in this case, your National automotive heritage includes Jaguar six cylinder engines, you might be apathetic about weight. A 3.8/4.2 six weighs 592/604 lb. Jag enthusiasts tout that the 5.3 V12 is only 80 lb. heavier.
Jaguar did evolve. The 4.2 V8 came in a 441 lb.

If we’re talking about putting engines in these cars that are 6 cylinders long let’s not forget John Hardy’s (dukegrad98) “Ubercobra” Factory Five roadster with the twin turbo 5 liter BMW V12 :)
