Friends,
What are you using to cut holes for your gauges/switches in your carbon fiber dash board? Adjustable circle cutter for a drill press? Standard hole saw bits with a hand held drill? I'm working on laying out my dashboard and i was curios what lessons people have learned to get the best cuts?
Thanks,
-Bryan

Just make sure you wear a respirator! Carbon composites will destroy your lungs!

I used a smaller than needed hole saw for each hole; typically about 1/4" smaller. Then I took a barrel sander to get to right where I needed to be. My main reason for this was I was worried about chipping or wandering. In the end, this was very easy to work with.
Yes, like steno said, wear a mask and use a vacuum

I used a Dremel w/ cutoff wheel then cleaned up the cuts w/ a sanding drum --> easy. I think a hole saw of the correct side might have been easier and quicker though. I did find that putting down painters tape help keep the cuts cleaner.
