All,
Does anyone know what signal the speedometer electrical out put is on the TXK? I was planning to possible use it as a speed setting for an electric power steering, the system I am pricing out needs a square type wave form. Sent a specific request to Tremec technical assistance for pin out and drawing and got a really nice replay to call a dealer:confused:

It isn't a voltage, think of it like a switch that turns on and off multiple times a second proportional to the speed of the output shaft.
Most tie one side to ground and the other side goes to a speedo. The other input to the speedo goes to +12. This generates a square wave input to the speedo

A "hall effect" sensor-(+12 pin 1 ,ground pin 3, pulse out pin 2). That is what I thought but would like a verification for plnning, it would be nice if the manufacture would answer the question instead of sending me to a dealer for my purchase. I will give Mike Forte A call next week when I get a chance, he may have some info.

The built-in speed sensor Tremec uses is a 2-wire variable reluctance sensor. It doesn't have a hall cell. Generates a waveform with a frequency that is proportional to vehicle road speed. Standard issue on Ford vehicles back in the 80's and 90's. Worked in the plant that made them by the millions. If you need a 3-wire hall effect sensor, Modern Driveline sells one that goes in the external sensor location on the other side. https://www.moderndriveline.com/shop/speedometer-parts/sensors/ford-sensors/3-wire-digital-speedo-sensor-for-tko-ford-gear-drive-16-pulse-10-pigtail/.

That's it! thanks I just started looking for after market stuff last night and that would be exactly what I would need to feed into a speed sensitive e-power steering system I would like to use.
