I noted Edwardb's and thought copying him was a safe way to go. Any comments? I have a carbureted 347 BPE.

Thanks,

Fix the picture first, than I'll vote. I can't see it even if I click on it.

if nothing else on the firewall should be acceptable...

That general area should be fine. Lower it a little bit and you can drill and tap or rivet into the 2" frame tube instead of just firewall sheetmetal for better support.

That is just about where mine is but I had to move it just a little bit towards the driver side as I have a heater.

That is literally exactly where mine is. Just make sure to bulk up the aluminum behind where you mount it a little:

If you're doing the firewall forward modification, be careful as you move the FPR towards center. I mounted my FPR too low & had interference between the hose fitting and the bell housing. If you're not going with a firewall forward, then I *think* you'll have plenty of clearance.

Agreed firewall behind the carb or get a carb mount to mount it on the passenger side of the carb. The point is to get it as close to the carb as possible to eliminate line pressure losses that occur with any run of hose or tubing

I'd put an angled fitting on the pressure gauge opening so it's easier to read the gauge after everything is installed. Just my suggestion based on personal experience.

Is that a return style regulator? I'm only seeing a supply line run to the front of the car.

Thanks for the shoutout. My guess is that's probably OK. But I have two responses: (1) What else are you going to put on your firewall? (2) What's the rush? I've never settled on anything on the firewall without having the engine in first and mocking everything up. It would be easy to finally place even with the engine installed.

Obi-wan (aka Edwardb),

No plans for anything else on the firewall unless manual calls for it.

Will hold off on final placement as you suggested.

Thx,

J

No return line plans.

I didn't ask if you were planning a return line.

So I'll ask again.

Is that a return "style" fuel pressure regulator?
