Turn signal mod

I just installed the Russ Thompson turn signal mod. It works fine but makes a when turning the wheel even when the turn signal is not being used. is this normal?

I think your steering wheel is too tight on the RT Turn signal. I had a similar issue and I trimmed my turn signal shroud (the bare aluminum section) about 1/4" and everything is perfect now. You should have about a 1/8" gap between the black turn signal and the steering wheel.

It turns out one of the cams that return the lever back to center was a bit too long and contacted the lugs on the steering wheel.I ground of about 1/64 and it now clears . It still works and no clicking

Glad you got it sorted... I recently had the same issue when turning to the right. I spoke with Russ and he suggested carefully grinding down the ears, as you have done.

My concern was that I could "feel" the click as well as hearing it. While I would unlikely hear it with the engine running I did not want to feel it while turning the wheel.
