I have the complete kit with the Ron Francis wiring harness. All wiring is per the installation manual, with the exception of a floor mounted high/low beam switch that I installed using Papas bracket and recommended parts. When I was testing all the lights before final body fitting I noticed that the passenger side head light was “dimmer” than the driver side. By dimmer, I would say that it is 1/4 to 1/2 as bright as the driver side. When I would switch to high beam the driver side would get brighter and the passenger side would get dimmer. I am using the Philips 6024D1 bulbs that came with the complete kit.
I suspected that I had the high and low beam wires pinned backwards in the passenger headlight “bucket” connection. I got the same results after switching the high and low beam wires. I then checked all connections from the lights back to the dash harness, through the floor switch and back to the dash light switch. All connections were correct. I then switched the passenger and driver side bulbs. The problem followed the bulb to the driver side.
I am suspecting that I have a bad bulb. Is it possible I damaged the bulb initially when the high and low beam wires were pinned incorrectly?
Does anyone have a source for the Philips 6024d1 bulb? I find a lot of 6024c1 but those are smaller diameter
