Hi all,

Put the body on for initial fitment and rough work and noticed a gap between the frame and aluminum at the door striker - see pics.
Should the bend in the aluminum panel be less so that it touches or is closer to the frame? Or is there something else going on here?

Thanks in advance - Rich

That’s how they are. Some builders make an aluminum (I use ABS plastic on the ones I do) splash panel which gets installed on the wheel well side to close up that big void.

You cut the bulb seal a little too short

I made some cardboard templates and transferred to some aluminum to block that space from the wheel well side. I’ve read that you can expect a rooster tail of water soaking your side when driving in the rain otherwise

As mentioned, a simple panel on the wheel well side seals up that big gap nicely.
