Has anyone tried to modify a set of these lower aftermarket control arms? QA1 or BMR? Factory Five is usually out of stock and a Canadian kit doesn't come with them anyways, so I am on the look out!
Any input would be great!

This has come up before, and it's not recommended. On the mustang, the weight of the car is carried by the upper ball joint - McPhearson strut. But the FFR carries all the weight on the lower control arm. The aftermarket arms are not really built for that.

Dave S. just posted in another thread that their backlog situation has improved dramatically and they're now back to shipping kits with very few backorders so I wouldn't necessarily assume they're out of stock of the lower control arms.

I had a look at a set to do this when I built my car. The tubing used is pretty thin walled and adding the shock mount would have been interesting. Ended up using a set of donor lower control arms. Nobody can see them and they work fine.

Regarding “out of stock”…if you’re basing this on the online parts catalog it is often inaccurate. I suggest that you call or email to find out the actual status.

Ok Heff, lol. What year donor control arms work?

I’d match them to the spindles; i.e. Fox or SN95. I don’t know if FFR spindles will play with a donor LCA.
