Air cleaner Clarence

I purchased a crate engine ( 351 sbf )for my gen3 coupe from a builder in Arizon. I am having air filter issues also. I have spent several hundred dollars trying to get some combination of base plate filter and top plate that will fit with no luck. The K&N drop base with X - Stream top does not fit. I’m really stuck. Any ideas are appreciated.

What intake manifold are you using? With the taller 351 based engines the clearance is tight as you are finding. Options maybe changing the intake to a low profile or modifying the hood to give you more room.

The intake manifold is a weland stealth.

I have a 351 based engine in mine with an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold (non air gap). I am using drop motor mounts that drop the engine about 1/2" and a drop base 14" filter, 3" height with element top. It all fits under the hood.
