I just order a complete package MK4 with 17120 IRS rear suspension configuration. Did not order the 16668 Moser center section, spindle and hubs nor the rear brakes. I've located a complete irs rear end including all of the above out of a 2018 mustang. Is it my understanding this will work with my car?

I did the same thing with a 2019 Mustang GT rear assembly. Everything fits as it should. It was less expensive doing it this way and you end up with parts you don’t need but could sell later.

Exactly. They actually have a complete irs with just 27k miles out of a 2019 mustang gt for $1k. Still a lot of life left and figures I’d save about $1,700 assuming brakes are ok.

Yep, just happened be online and located this place out of GA with a slew of 2015 and later IRS rear ends in various configurations and ages. No since in waiting. Thanks again Jeff for the time we spent together at your place yesterday. I met with my machine shop today and have my guy working on configuring my engine. Spoke with Stewart Transportation also and they have me in the system for pickup and delivery the end of August. Moving quick. David

So what years will work with the IRS configuration, just to be sure....

Higgy. 2015 and newer. Not sure if the new 2024 mustang will be different.

Be sure to get a salvage takeout that includes the brakes. Over 12 yrs or so w/ my MkII solid axle I had 4 different rear brake setups. When I did the IRS retrofit I used the OE brakes. They are the best brakes I have ever had on the FFR. Even the parking brake works w/ no need for force multipliers. When you talk to a salvage place be sure to confirm that you are getting the brakes. I found that some of them use a stock picture which may not be the exact unit you will actually get.

I did the same with a 2017 Mustang drop out. I'm running the 2017 rear brakes and the supplied FFR front brakes. I'm using a foxbody pedal box with vacuum assist. Probably the cheapest way to have great brakes in my opinion.

Thanks for all the great advice. I found working with The Parts Farm out of Lyons GA (Matt) and Midway Mustang out of Dewitt, IA great. I would do business with either again. Both appear to have good inventory of late model Ford Mustang suspension parts.
