Happy Monday,
Hey I getting ready to dive head first into the body work and it occurred to me that I didn't receive the rearview mirror or side view mirror with my kit. I also don't see them in the inventory anywhere. Are these included with the complete kit?

Yes, included with both the complete and base kits. There’s a rectangular one intended to be mounted on the cowl and one bullet mirror for the driver’s side. Some don’t like the cowl mounted rear view mirror (I actually do) and opt to install it at the top of the windshield and the side mirror is almost universally regarded as decoration only because it’s field of view is pretty much limited to the rear quarter panel.

I, for one, like the look of the single bullet mirror on the DS. I replaced the glass w/ a convex mirror to increase my view over the fender. I found that the stock mirror was smaller than replacement convex mirrors by around 1/4", so I used a cheap circular glass cutter to cut down the replacement. Took 3 tries (mirrors) to get it right, but at least they're cheap (<$10).

X2 - Look great and actually work well. No drilling of the body required.

The breeze mirrors are well worth it. The field of view is great.

I'll answer it in a way that will help him not spend money.
I didn't use my side mirror went with the breeze one as well. Not doing anything with it, yours if you want it for free just PM me. One more thing to take off the shelf and help a fellow builder. I did use the dash mounted one so can't offer that one up.

Ha!
Thanks for all the information--- and oooohhhh yes, I do love the look of those Breeze mirrors.
FYI, I contacted FFR and they said that due to their computer system being changed over during the week that my kit was manufactured, a few things got left off my inventory list--thus never showed up on my POL. And for me, the newbe that I am, it's tough not knowing what I'm missing if I don't know I'm missing it...

I don't understand this comment. The OP asked a question and you immediately gave him his answer. BUT, then you added this to your comment "the side mirror is almost universally regarded as decoration only because it’s field of view is pretty much limited to the rear quarter panel" The OP is a master fabricator like I can only dream but is obviously not very experienced with building cars or FFR kits and might be interested in viewing more than his rear quarter panel when driving. So in light of you pointing out that the FFR side mirror is pretty much worthless I don't see anything wrong with offering up other options. I'm reasonably sure his credit card is still in his wallet, it's his choice.
To me the real value of this and any other forum is the knowledge base (thanks for always sharing Jeff). This sharing of knowledge and ideas is a treasure trove that can be used how any member sees fit. Recently there was a thread about windshield mounted mirrors. Most of the replies showed an awful looking bracket bolted to the windshield. Papa Dave showed a slick little stick-on mirror that looked very nice. Gave me the idea that's what I want!

I like the the look of the 60s mirrors too. They aren’t the easiest to use, but you get used to them and I would add, you aren’t intended to use the side view mirror to look back, it’s to see the blind spot. If it’s positioned for that it won’t have much rear fender in it.
Do you have a source for your convex mirror and glass cutter? I’d like to try this on my right side mirror. Thanks.

found them on amazon. I think the stock flat mirror is 3.5" and all the round convex ones I was able to source were 3.75". I bought a round glass cutter from amazon for $10 and ruined 2 before I was finally happy with the third one. You basically score the glass and I used a pair of needle nose pliers to break away the edges. The rough edges can be sanded/polished but also the plastic bezel on the bullet mirror covers it up nicely.

I guess you missed the joke or it wasn’t clear. I thought everyone knows that forum members are always willing to help spend others money, even when they aren’t asked.

I got the joke Jeff!
Can someone post what the mirrors look like from 5-10 feet away from the car? They look great but I can’t really tell what it looks like on the car. Thanks!

If you're asking about the "expensive, but awesome" mirrors, here's a picture.

By the way, Mark is a distributor of these mirrors. They are actually made by another guy named Terry.

Thanks! Yes, looks awesome. I am in. After 700 miles, I can say definitively that the bullet mirror sucks (for me at least).
