Shifter linkage hitting trans

What have you guys done to avoid the linkage hitting the trans? 700R4 & Lokar shifter. I'm thinking just a simple bushing at the shifter connecting point.

I put a minor bend in my AOD rod to gain the clearance I needed. A simple little s-bend will work and be plenty strong enough. Mine lasted for 5 years before I sold car. good luck.

I must not have taken any real pics of what I did. But I cut the arm and moved it closer to the trans while maintaining the same arc. Then created a new rod with the proper bends to avoid the trans. It works great. Lokar shifter with AOD.
