Have you guys narrowed your trans tunnel for more foot room in the footbox area? It looks like with the SBC/700R4 combo I can get at least another 2 inches on both sides.

It's been done a number of times, for a variety of reasons. Go for it.

I did for my big feet and it made a big difference

Yep. People either cut the 'glass one up, or make their own. Very common. I moved my handbrake while I was at it.. worth considering.

Do it!! you won't regret it... You will be able to space your pedals better and it will be a lot more comfortable

The passenger side footbox has several inches of room between it's engine side and the 302's headers. I've thought about moving the inner panel closer to the engine which would make more room for passenger's feet. My concern has been possible additional heat in the footbox because it's inner panel would now be closer to the engine/headers.
