View Full Version : Forte mech linkage rod end thread size?

I just cut to length the throttle link aluminum rod from the firewall, and then tapped the end of the rod for 1/4-20. Oops. There are way more threads per inch on the rod end. Knowing Mike it is probably metric. Anyone know the thread size so I can order the right tap? GLad I started with the long one (it's going to become the short one now).

99% sure its 1/4-28.

I seem to recall that one end is right hand threads and other is left hand threads, can anyone confirm? Is so need to order the correct tap for that end

That is correct, but they came tapped already on that end. I don't need to fuss with a reverse thread tap unless I have to start with a new rod. Not the case so far.

Yes and Forte usually sends the tap for it.
