Hey yall,

I figured I could get this answered quicker on here, than emailing David at FFR? FFR says you can only use a Gen III HEMI (2003-2008), in the Hot Rod Truck? Is this still correct? Asking because I found a complete 5.7 with full harness, ECU and auto trans for $4000, only issue is, that it's from a 2013? If anyone knows, please let me know? I would preferably want a Ford drive-train, but I'm looking at Chevy and Dodge options too.

Thanks!

I have a 2012 5.7 Hemi in my Speedstar, same from the firewall forward as the truck. The differences between the 03-08 and the 09 and newer 5.7 hemi are the cylinder heads, intake manifold and the 03-08 has a 32 tooth relucter verse the 09+ having a 58 tooth. I am not sure about the tranny, I am using a T5 on my car.

FFR has a supplement you can down load detailing the install of a 392 Hemi. They also have an install kit which includes motor mounts and modified steering shafts (need to jog the steering to the outside to clear the headers.
