I was wondering if anyone has used epoxy based fillers to do the body work vs the ester based fillers? Reason I ask is they seem to be far less hazardous to your health. I talked with West Systems and they said they have Corvette guys using it all the time.

I used it extensively when I was doing the body prep on #50 some years ago. No problem!

Thanks for the feedback! Did you do and epoxy sealer coat after filling or go straight to a primer to seal it? What did you use for primer? Could you elaborate on the steps and materials you used?

I don't know specifically what fiberglass is use for Corvettes and a Google search didn't help much. Lots of changes over the years apparently. For the vinylester used for Factory Five bodies (common in the boat industry) the filler of choice is Evercoat Rage Gold. Widely used in body shops all over the country and regularly cited by experienced painters on here (e.g. the Jeffs) as the filler of choice. With proper protection (appropriate mask, etc.) during application and sanding, you will be fine. I'd highly recommend staying with the products that have worked for the masses. Nothing you can do if the foundation you lay with something else doesn't work out.
Lots of threads on paint steps and materials used. This has a brief summary: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?43795-Painting-my-Roadster&p=501418&viewfull=1#post501418

We used Evercoat's Rage Gold and Fibertech products.
The Rage Gold was used for most of the body work while the Fibertech was used on the doors where they meet the cowl and then finished out with the Rage Gold product.
Why did I use these fillers you may ask? It was at the expert recommendation of Sir Jeffski.(aka: Jeff Kleiner)

Hope This Helps!
