Can anyone see anything wrong with the way i've got this set up? Flaming River says "at a motor orientation that best suits your application".. so I don't think the vertical position would be an issue... idk
The engine is moving back about 3" so that'll move that header pipe further away. If y'all think this is ok, i'll run with it.
Thanks

Whatever works. It's you're build.

Should be OK. I used some thin aluminum flashing as a heat shield on both side of the engine headers to keep the heat away from the PS and heater/AC hoses.
If you’re moving the engine back are you sure the driveshaft will still fit?

Heat from the header in close proximity to the PS electric motor is a concern. I wouldn't do it without a heat shield or maybe insulation around the PS motor similar to what's sometimes done with starter motors. I had the same question with my truck build (same setup) and decided to rotate it down and away from the header. That required a different pan on my LS3 to clear.

I'm a big fan of the DEI heat shield stuff, i'm sure i'll wrap it in something to reduce the heat. But, like I mentioned, I will be moving the engine back a few inches so that will help a lot.

Not sure the drive shaft fits now as it is, it's just slipped in to the back of the trans and hanging from the frame. Once I move the engine back, we'll see if anything fit, if not, measure and order one.

Yeah, I know, I was just wanting other sets of eyes on how it's set up and if anyone sees any potential issues

I'm not sure if you're going to run with the side engine covers or not but if you are there is plenty of room with the covers on to swing the electric motor further into the frame more , even passing it some.
That may buy you a little more protection from heat, but I also agree to do some heat shield

Sorry to hijack the thread……Jim, I like your method for additional support for the fenders.

Hey Jim
Thanks. It really stiffens up the side covers / fenders so they do not vibrate so much. I also made support brackets on the inside of the fenders which helped a lot too (can't find any pic of those and the car is in storage right now so i can't take any pics right now).
