I am in the process of body fitting and I have seen a couple of references about adding a spacer to the 3/4" square rail by the hood hinges to help position the front. Some have referenced to using either 5/8" rubber strips or 3/4" wood. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of installed spacers. Also, is it normal for the inside lip of the hood opening to hit the front top edge of the DS foot box (see below)? For reference, the door openings are in front of the striker plates. Thanks in advance.

The front of the body actually floats supported by the quick jack and/or parking light brackets. I like Jeff's rubber idea because you won't have to be so careful getting your spacer dimension perfect to keep it from fighting the mounts.

I fill the gap with hard foam rubber strips. One hint though. I trim that body flange down some so it's the same all the way around and not interfering anywhere.

Thanks Craig and Paul, good advice. I used some spacers and they worked great, the front quick jacks lined up well (not using the side light brackets). I like the idea of making the body flange uniform, makes sense and probably looks better.

I used 2 of the hood bumpers. Measured 5/8 exactly and worked real nice
