I hope the rest of you guys are making it safely through this crazy weather cycle. Alabama has some perks and one of those is the winter weather.

63 in Boston, but too much salt on the roads already. I'll be in the pick-up for the next few months. I did spend an hour in the garage scratching my head over a spring project.

We just usual do not see snow and Ice this far south so I do not have to worry about salt on the roads. I could see how that could be a big problem keeping your rig clean.

We lost power for 12 hours in Buffalo on Christmas Eve in what I can only describe as an ice hurricane. We got through it safely but holy hell it was wild.

I saw pictures of Buffalo and you guys got slaughtered. I hope you are doing well. After seeing this front push through I have zero desire to live north of the Mason-Dixon line .

Me either. Long time ago we lived in northern PA when I got a job that required us to live near a major airport anywhere on the east cost. I had grown up outside Philly so I said how about there. My wife said DC would be a lot warmer and all our family were in southern Pa so DC we went. She was 100% correct. We now live in SW Va and we kept seeing the weather maps of that storm overlapping us a bit. But we got maybe 1/2 inch of snow and a couple of wild temp swings but that was it. I sometimes wonder how the north ever got populated. At any given location there was a time when only 10 people lived there. They had to go through a couple of hellish winters. So why did they stay? I guess when travel was by a mule and a wagon, and a house was built of logs you created w/ a hand ax, the thought of moving and building another house was just too much.

My wife is from Clarkston MI and is a UM grad. I remember the first time I went up there to meet her family during Xmas. Luckily I was living in Kansas City so I had an idea but the cold was just next level. She happily moved to Alabama after enjoying a winter down here. Now the summers.....different story.
