I am looking at my first FFR Cobra purchase and have found a potential MK4. From the seller:

The car has a 302 engine purchased from the Engine Factory. The car has 7000 miles on it and has been built for seven years now. I have been working overseas for the last 10 years often on not accounts for low mileage on the car. It has a three Link 8.8 rear end with a 373 rear gear. Has a T5 manual transmission. It has four wheel disc brakes and Halibrand knock off replica wheels. I’ve added an oil cooler and a heater to the car. It has European gauges. And just had to replace the radiator and battery. Has manual power steering and brakes and the clutch seems to be working just fine. The only problem with the vehicle that I can think of is the fact that the fuel gauge does not seem to be working or it is just not calibrated correctly

Before I book a plane ticket to go look at the car, what other questions should I ask? Paint/bodywork looks great in pictures. This is his second FFR build. Any input from those who have been through the process before would be appreciated.

Posting pictures would help. Rather than spending $$ for travel, why not post the location and someone on here you trust could do a local buyer's inspection.

Paul has the best idea here. There are a number on here that would help you out and that can be worth it’s weight in gold.

In addition to pictures and an in-person inspection by a reputable and independent source, have the owner provide you with a video of it running and driving (either previously recently recorded or live stream). That's how I bought my Rosie sight unseen - BUT - I've bought cars this way many times and I am very familiar with the remote buying process, mechanically inclined, and not concerned about minor issues which she did have that I have since been corrected. Good luck!

These aren’t the best, but he’s sending me more. It’s at least a baseline. I was planning on arranging an independent inspection, but having someone local from here look at it first is a great suggestion. The car id near Orlando

looks like a very clean build. I'd flip that alternator bracket upside down to lower the alternator location, then get a direct solid pipe w/ some silicone elbows/connectors to route the coolant hose from the intake to radiator in a more direct fashion. see if he'll facetime and have a live video feed of a walk around and first/cold start to hear the engine.

None of those pictures appear to be recent. 2016 on the license plate. Headers and sidepipes have no discoloration etc. I would ask for recent pictures of the interior and paint. Someone selling a car using 7 year old pictures (not counting obvious build pics) would make me cautious.
