Hello forum,
I'm hoping you all can once again help me with some info. I've officially run into the single most difficult/frustrating part of my Roadster build-- and man, I didn't see it coming.
I installed my Ford Racing 302 last month and I'm now realizing I probably should have installed the dipstick tube prior to putting the motor in. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to both get it in far enough, and where the bracket mounts to the engine. I've been able to get the tube about 2" inserted, but I see no place for the bracket to mount, even if I continued to insert the tube. I'm starting to wonder if I'm not positioning it correctly. Can anyone post some pictures of what it's supposed to look like completed and where the welded bracket mounts? Second, if I do need to insert the tube farther than the 2" I've managed so far, does anyone have any advice on best practices?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

This is my original dipstick from an 1989 5.0 HP Mustang engine. Yours may be different I think.

FYI, The aftermarket ones from Lokar are meant to mount to one of the header bolts too.
