Fox reporter is kind of out to lunch on this. That’s far, far from new. This is a Ford concept from around 2003 or 2004 which they showed at the Detroit Auto Show. Obviously it never went anywhere and the nearly 2 decades old design is showing it’s age…at least in this guy’s opinion.

I was going to say, I think the original and our replicas look a lot nicer than that. That's my opinion but you know what they say about opinions.......

Jeff That's a coincidence, I just saw one of those last week. Fast Lane cars in St. Charles has one for sale. There is a lot of engineering in that thing. So If anyone whats to get a jump on one, here you go:

This teaser from AC cars came out last week.
Seems to cycle every few years something’s coming but never does.

Interesting, their site says it will use a supercharged Coyote engine!

I've seen these cars at Barrett Jackson several times over the years. There weren't many made, but they always bring a buzz at the auction. Cool car, but way under-powered and too modern looking(in my opinion).
It would be cool to see a manufacturer make a valiant effort to bring a new version into production.

The article is very confusing. The 2003 was a prototype from Ford that never went into production. It was supposed to take over the GT production line when that finished. But it got shelved.
AC Cars is planning on a new Cobra. https://accars.eu/
Its not the first time they made a "new Cobra" announcement. So let's see. AC has been 8 or 9 different companies over the years.
They built AC Cobras in the 60s at the the same time Carrol was building Shelby Cobras in the US.
It's not impossible, but it's incredibly difficult to maintain the same shape and meet modern safety requirements. If they're manufacturing the car then they'll likely have to meet the current requirements. Unless AC's plan is to go the Superformance / Backdraft route and send a rolling chassis that you install engine / transmission to. In that case, they'll exclude countries like Canada that don't consider that a "kit".

No, no and no is all I have to say about said “vehicle”.

All i need to see is the windshield frame to make up my mind, which is nope, no way Jose. While probably needed to meet safety standards, it'll end up being a mashup of old and new, which rarely works well.

The article is poorly organized.
The first video of the 2004 Ford Shelby Cobra Concept (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Shelby_Cobra_Concept) has little to do with the upcoming announcement. I suspect the author or editor wanted something modern for eye candy and this was the best they could find with actual "Cobra" chops.
As mentioned above, my first thought about the "new car soon to be announced!" was "again?"
Reminds me of Indian motorcycle company, before Polaris finally bought the rights in 2011.
