Sorry if this has been beat to death already, i'm still new to all this.

What's the widest tire that fits with the available bike fenders? I'm thinking 335 or wider on the rear, 315's front

Where can you get bike fenders other than the FFR carbon? Dan Ruth says he'll still make me the rears but does not have a source for the fronts anymore.

I'm thinking I'm going to need to split a fender to make it wider, Has anyone split one and widened it? Aluminum, fiberglass or Carbon? I did see a custom aluminum set where they made their own and did a bead roll down the middle front to back, tapered the front in to a design and now I can't find it again.

Thank you

Tim Whitacker up at kootenai Customs in Idaho widened at least his rear fenders adding 2" I believe. His 33 is one of the early type 1s.

The front fenders will accommodate 245/45/17s or 245/35/18s otherwise you would have to widen them. Your wheel offset comes into play also as to where the front fenders are centered over the tire. I have to space mine 3/4" out from the brackets to get them to be situated correctly. IMO , 315s on the front is too much tire for the front, but to each his own, its your build. It will put more strain on the front suspension and your power steering unit. The suggested max tire sizes are listed as 255 front and 315 rear, max diameter of 25.7 front and rear. These are a guide but others have gone bigger in the rear. No fenders , no problem. Big in the front will cause you problems with the tires rubbing on the side engine covers so limiters on your rack would be required and your turning radius will be like a long bed truck.

255/35/18 front
325/30/19 rear
Carbon fiber fenders. I don’t think you can get any more tire in there than this.
