Thanks David,

It's been a real treat to drive. FFR's design is pretty well known already. When I've gone to "car nights" it gets a lot of attention. Most people know after a quick glance that it's an FFR 33 but most still haven't seen another one yet here in WI.

#007 has clocked over 6000 miles as of this Fall, but is currently hibernating here in WI. I get Seasonal Automotive Disorder (SAD) if I don't get to drive it often. So, I sit in it and make Engine Noises like my grandson does and then I feel better!

Winter projects are to try QA1 adjustable shocks on all four corners and I'm making louvers for the engine side panels (one very large one on each panel). Once I get those roughed in, I'll post some pics.

Best regards, Tom

Congratulations, Tom. I do like 007. Thanks for the info on the fenders. Mine arrived today an am looking forward to that time in my build. If Jason would get me my rims, I'd have a rolling chassis tomorrow. Again, "great looking automobile!" John

Hi John, In a PM I was asked about "stone chips" with the mileage of my car and also the use of fenders. The front fenders do help with some stones, but some still get tossed. When the car was painted, I had the paint shop put on that thin plastic film (don't know the brand) on the fronts of the rear fenders with protection in mind. I am glad I did. They get peppered with stuff from the front tires.

The sides of the cars don't get much damage as anything that flings up there is hitting at a relatively oblique angle. I have noticed very tiny marks on the leading edge of the doors and rear quarters that happen to be unlucky enough to have been in the path of something abrasive. All in all, for 6K+ miles the car and paint have held up very well.

Did I send you, or post a photo of the welt we made up for between the fender and the rear quarter of the car? I had a fabric shop make it up, the paint shop paint it to match the body and then put it in between the body and rear fenders. Looks nice and is very "period correct" for a '30s car.

This shows the fabric welt in place as well as the pin strip we did separating the red and tan.
