Curious if anyone has the skills, or knows anyone who might be interested in creating a pretty basic CAD drawing for me? (willing to pay $ for the work!) I'm wanting to have a new dash front piece made for my project. I would send a scale drawing of the intended part and need something back that I can get to the folks at "send/cut/send" to be laser cut. I used to have autocad back in the day, and be decent with it - but I no longer have access to it (and hey, it was like R13 or something!).
My daughter had access to the programs AND the laser cutter in her HS labs - but they're stonewalling her :(
Anyone "know a guy" (or gal?) - or reputable service?
Thanks
Rian

Is this just a 2-D layout?
PM inbound.

You need a .dxf for send cut send. I've used them a few times with good results. If Jim can't help you let me know.

I just did this for my build and was actually considering offering help to others for a small fee. PM if interested.

Autodesk's Fusion 360 is available for free, just gotta do the legwork for a hobby license. 3D print folks have written about this for a couple of years now.
Fusion 360 will save as DXF but you have to save the "sketch" (right-click your sketch in the tree on the upper left side and export as DXF) and not an extruded body or mesh.
It's a little weird (compared to 3D print modeling) but doable.

Hey, I'm a professionally drained CAD draftsman with a mechanical engineering degree and 16 years of experience running Solidworks. I have my own system here and do CAD pretty regularly. If you need me to create a model, drawing, assembly, etc, it's within my capability
