We’re prepping the holes in the engine bay that won’t be accessible when fitting the engine

using the Wilwood master straight across and a bit down through the driver footbox

in the engine bay the line only seems to reach to the bottom of the footbox

measuring from the transmission mount, it seems we need a LOT more line
175885

just an optical illusion? or did Mike send too short a line?

btw - this is for a Gen3 Coyote and Tremec TKX

The one that Mike supplied for my 20th Anniversary Roadster fit. But unfortunately I don't have a record of the length in my build notes. For my Coupe, I did buy a 24" hose and it also worked. But can't say that's exactly the same situation or routing as a Roadster.

FWIW re: thread sealant in your picture. The 1/8-27 NPT fitting on the master cylinder does require sealant as the threads on NPT fittings are the sealing mechanism. Only necessary to coat the threads though. All the extra showing isn't doing anything. For the -AN fitting to the hose, no sealant used there. The 37 degree metal-to-metal joint does the sealing.

Thanks Paul - I guess we will see when the engine goes in, just seems like a really long run is needed, but until it's in we'll find out :)

I figured the thread sealant was probably overkill/not needed - hopefully not bad for the union

Thank you again!

well, it ends up the hydro line is at least 6-8" too short :(

assuming I could get a pre-fabbed 30" assembly - with PTFE lines and double 1/8 NPT ends, correct?

I had the same issue with my hose being too short. I ended up running a hardline from the master cylinder to a brake fitting that passed through the aluminum. The fitting was like the ones at each end of the hard lines where they transition to braded lines going to the calipers but it was threaded on the outside too so you could just drill a hole and lock it into place with a nut. Then the braded line was connected to that on the other side and it was plenty long enough.

Hope this helps!

finally getting back to this... called Forte, should have received a 40" line for a Coyote/TKX setup, they're going to ship a new one out

Bringing this one back up as I’m mocking up Fortes hydraulic clutch line now.

I received the 40” braided line from Forte. I’m assuming on the master cylinder side it’s a 1/8-27 NPT male -> -3AN male into the braided line. Is that correct? I need to change it from a straight fitting to a 90 degree connection but there’s not much detail from Forte about what I’ve got now.
