I think I saw something on Facebook about the correct placement of the instrument panel on a MK4. Anyone have the specs on this.

There are really no specs. If the center of the dash is even with the crossover hoop, the ends will be above the hoop by about3/8-1/2". The body follow the dash curvature. Don't try to make the ends even with the hoop because the center will be too low. You can screw the dash to the hoop at this level and be able to remove the dash later if you need to.

175363 This is what happens when you make the ends of the dash follow the hoop. It's too low. I didn't know where the body would sit or how much the body would cover the dash and I made elbow brackets to lower the dash. WRONG. Just attach the center of the dash to the top of the hoop.

For the aluminum dash you want the ends of the dash 3/16" down from the top of the tube at the outer ends. Passenger side is the same BUT first cut approximately 2" off of the passenger side end. Don't get too concerned with the relationship between the dash an top of the tube at the center---the hoop bends are inconsistent so that distance varies.
