Many of you have implemented a 150A breaker in your setup

I'm struggling to understand which feed wire gets implemented in the breaker setup. I know the Coyote ECU runs the alternator through it's own harness, but where does the 'protected' circuit need to exist?

Assume it goes on the red alternator wire from the RF harness?

for breaker location, is it best to mount in the engine bay (where reachable) on that main line? or should I pull off a location like the ignition switch or fusepanel?

Yes, the red alternator feed you indicated. Put it where you can access it. With five builds over 12 years I've popped it once (self-inflicted) but glad I could get to it on the firewall. The Coyote maxi fuse isn't technically protecting the alternator. Even though it too has a direct battery feed if wired per the instructions.

also, assuming the brown wire isn't needed with the Coyote setup - correct?

Nope

awesome thanks!

got it tucked up in the driver footbox and will have visibility for the breaker and can reach down in there if needed

we will terminate the alternator end when we have a good length setup once the engine is in :)

What is the total possible electrical load?? is it close to 150Amps?

from what I’ve seen the boss 302 alternator is rated at 150A

That is it's max capability, not the load.
