We're in the LA area for a few days, and my son and I had some free time this morning so we decided to visit the Petersen Automotive Museum. We've been here once before, but they rotate the exhibits pretty frequently so there are always new things to see.
First off, there was an exhibit of Warhol paintings, along with the cars that inspired them, that were commissioned by Mercedes Benz to commemorate their one hundredth anniversary.

Next, there was a McLaren exhibit of some of their race cars throughout the years, including Fernando Alonso's F1 car from 2018:

One very interesting car (and perhaps most relevant to this forum) was a 1965 Shelby-De Tomaso P70. Peter Brock designed the bodywork, which was built by Carrozzeria Fantuzzi, and the assembly of the car was overseen by Carroll Shelby. The styling and aerodynamic cues that would make their way into later De Tomaso's were already clearly evident in this car.

Oh, and of course the basement tour is not to be missed. It's absolute vehicular overload, and includes everything from Saddam Hussein's personal limousine, a Batmobile, The Mystery Machine and a Popemobile.

This is definitely worth a visit if you're ever in the LA area and have a couple hours to spare.
